After 2 years of planning, preparing and saving we have finally embarked on our year long trek around the world. Our original plan was to do it all by land and sea which we soon discovered was easier said than done and probably more feasible 100 years ago! …..So we decided to do as much as possible overland and by sea and limit our flights to a maximum of 5 hours. Our first leg of the journey sees us travelling overland from Wolverhampton to Singapore – some 17,000 miles! We are hoping to do this in 3 months and the remaining part of trip takes us to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and we will spend the last 6 months in North and Central America.
